I have imaged two laptops used new SID to creat new ID's for the laptops but neither of the new ones appear in the database after reinstalling the client.
I have rermoved the client a few times including the registry entry in HKLM but neither can be see in the database.

Hello - you need to blacklist the GUID - pls see this article:
