The Default Groups cannot be changed via the GUI but it is possible to edit the groups.js file in
C:\Program Files\systemhound\Website\Software
This should be done with great care and at your own risk and you should take a copy of the standard groups.js first.
Taking the Adobe Acrobat entry in groups.js as an example, it says that any software starting with Adobe Acrobat goes in the group Adobe Acrobat.
To restrict this to Acrobat 7 software, you would just change “Adobe Acrobat*” to “Adobe Acrobat 7*”. You can have multiple lines for the same group, so you could add a line with “Adobe Acrobat 8*” or put in specific software names if you don’t want to wildcard.
The file software_groups.js WHICH SHOULD NOT BE AMENDED shows you the names of the software apps that have been found in that group.
Note that if you change groups.js, this only takes immediate effect if you run Database Refresh from the console, then exit the console before going back into reporting.
