The disk scan tool only finds exe's from a specifi

The disk scan tool is used to find executables that are not detected using systemhound's normal detection methods. You will find that almost all your software will be auomatically detected by these default methods which involve searching the registry, add/remove programs, services and customised software.
In addition, you can also turn on Program Files scanning from the Central Configuration Manager, which will return all executables within Program Files.
The disk scan tool provides a way of searching the whole hard drive of a particular machine for all executables. These executables are defined by location, which can include environment variables. If you then wish to add any of the executables found by the disk scan tool to systemhound's normal software inventory, it will only find the executable if present at that location.
This will be modified in a future release, but the bottom line is that you will probably find you do not need to scan your entire hard drive - the default methods work fine. Scanning the whole disk also leads to a deterioration in system performance, another reason why we believe the default inventory methods are more suitable for your long-term auditing needs.
