From the website and also the maintenance wizard, i have been led to believe that Windows 95/98 clients can be audited.

Having looked through the audit produced, none of these machines (okay there are very few of them) have been reported.

looking at the install logs the message underneath each machine is "Error: target client must be running Windows NT4 or greater"

Is it me  Huh or is there something I need to set up

The Install Wizard can only be used to install clients remotely to Win NT and above machines; you can't remotely install to Win 9x.

There are a variety of deployment options to install the client to Win 9x:

- manually install the clients by going round to the machine and using the systemhound executable, choosing 'user machine' on the appropriate dialog.

- using login scripts to call client.exe to install when user logs in.

For details on these, see the User Guide, available to download from systemhound.com, or included in your media pack if you purchased this.
