Hi,

I would like to lookup a few values in the registry that correspond to information about Mcafee virus updates. I have Mcafee VirusScan 8.0.26 installed on my machine, and that has a reg entry;
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\McAfee.com\VirusScan Online]
with a value
"SourceDisk"
which I want to check for, and record the value.

So I have an entry in the "Current Registry Software" like so;

Description="McAfee Virus Scan Info"
Manufacturer="McAfee"
Key="[HKLM\SOFTWARE\McAfee.com\VirusScan Online]"
Value="SourceDisk"

I have saved the custom configuration, rebooted the server, copied shrefresh.exe over to my desktop and run it.

But no information for this known entry is appearing in the systemhound inventory reports.

What am I doing wrong, or am I misunderstanding the use of this product feature?

I watched the shrefresh process as it run using regmon, and it didn't even look in the reg key that I specified it to look in, so that would go some way to explaining why the inventory is not seeing it.

Cheers,

Tom H

what version are you on? This issue has been fixed in 4.0.2.0. You can tell the version from the home page of your reports - download the latest from www.systemhound.com if you're using an older version.
