software reporting as 'unknown' versions
«

There are a number of products which return a version number of Unknown, where do the version numbers come from and is it possible to get systemhound to look at other things, such as a date stamp to retrieve the version number?
The version numbers come from the properties of the executable. Right click on the exe and click on the properties tab.
You'll find that the majority of software which returns 'unknown' will be Add/Remove defined software. These
should
have the version number, if the software developers have put it in.
Most major software manufacturers should have a version number defined for their entries in Add/Remove programs.

See if there's an executable or other file with the version information in it. If there is, you can add this as a custom application in the Custom Software Tool (Start/Programs/systemhound/Tools/)
This will then show as an additional application in the software report.
